General information
The Smart City sensoring project of the municipality of Alkmaar has a Lora network available to everyone. Residents who want to measure in their own living environment can use this network to jointly devise, build and implement their ideas. They receive help from the Junior IOT foundation .
The Junior IOT Foundation, together with the residents' association ' Hart van Alkmaar ', has designed noise meters for measurements in the city. These measure the development of sound intensity in decibels at various places in the city centre. The noise meter also participated in Meten Together test measurements on the RIVM site.
In other places in the city, residents measure particulate matter. Light intensity, temperature, humidity and pressure are also measured. That's all open data. The sound levels and the particulate matter values are also available in real-time via the Samen Meten data portal.
