Promote the particulate filter premium

By installing a particulate filter on an old diesel car, you drastically reduce harmful emissions.
Promote the particulate filter premium

You tackle the following challenges:

How do I expose myself less to harmful substances

That's how you do it

Older diesel cars still make a major contribution to the emission of particulate matter. Particulate filters reduce harmful emissions. By installing a particulate filter on a diesel car, you contribute to less fine dust and make an important contribution to your own health and that of your environment. The Flemish government provides a premium of up to €600 for the installation of a particulate filter on a Euro 3 or Euro 4 car.

  • Check whether the installation of a particulate filter on your car is an added value.
  • Check whether you qualify for the particulate filter premium.
  • Order the correct particulate filter.
  • Request the premium

Tips

  • Installing a particulate filter only makes sense if you regularly cover long distances at an average speed of 70 km/h. Because only then will the particulate filter work optimally.
  • As the owner of a Euro standard 3 or 4 diesel car, domiciled in the Flemish Region, you are eligible for the particulate filter premium.
  • You cannot just have any particulate filter installed on your car. Therefore, choose the right particulate filter.
  • More information about how to apply for the premium can be found here .

Knowing more

  • The Euro standard for a car is a European environmental standard. The higher the standard, the more environmentally friendly the car. The Euro standard of your car is stated on the registration certificate. From Euro 5, diesel cars are equipped with a (closed) particulate filter as standard.
  • There are two types of particulate filters: closed and semi-open particulate filters. Closed particulate filters are installed on more recent cars and stop more than 90% of the particulate emissions. You can NOT have a closed particulate filter retrofitted to your car. There is a semi-open particulate filter for this. This semi-open particulate filter blocks 30% to 50% of the particulate emissions.
